Teen Court

The Teen Court Program is vital part of our Juvenile Court System. The Teen Court Program is a voluntary youth diversion program designed to allow teenagers who have committed a minor first offense to accept responsibility for their actions by submitting to the sentencing decisions of their peers which are meant to be constructive and educational. Over the past four years, the Teen Court Program has handled an average of 240 cases per year. For the most part, these cases were kept off of the regular juvenile court docket, thus reducing the cases handled in our courtrooms, while teaching the volunteers of the Teen Court Program valuable lessons about our court systems.
